2012 ETS Sports NFL Mock Draft Round 1
  ETS1's Picks
CoachJ's Picks
1.
Indianapolis Colts
QB, Andrew Luck, 6'4'' 235, Stanford
QB, Andrew Luck, 6'4'' 235, St.
The Colts are starting over from scratch and are going to
draft a new face of the franchise.
Has all the intangibles scouts look for. Fans
want a big name to replace Manning.
2.
Washington Redskins
QB, Robert Griffin III, 6'3'' 210, Baylor
QB, Robert Griffin III, 6'3'' 210
The Redskins traded up to get this Very Athletic QB who
throws a great deep ball.
Most gifted in the draft at his position.
Reminds me of Vick with better precision.
Redskins gave the house to get him.
3.
Minnesota Vikings
OT, Matt Kalil, 6'6'' 305, USC
OT, Matt Kalil, 6'6'' 305, USC
After drafting QB Christian Ponder last year the vikes will
draft someone to Protect his blind side.
Thought of as the best lineman in the draft.
Ponder and Peterson will benefit from this
pick. Don't be surprised if the Vikings trade
down.
4.
Cleveland Browns
RB, Trent Richardson, 5'11'' 220, Bama
WR, Justin Blackmon, 6'1'' 205
The Browns have alot of needs to fill, Why not start with a
beast at RB.
Best wideout in the draft. The Browns have
no WR who produce consistently.  Experts
think Richardson here, but there are several
RBs, but only one Blackmon.
5.
Tampa Bays Bucs
CB, Morris Claiborne, 6'0'' 177, LSU
CB, Morris Claiborne, 6'0'' 177
Ronde Barber is 104 years old, They have to draft
someone to replace him.
Best cornerback in the draft.  The NFC
torched defenses(Rodgers, Brees, Stafford,
Ryan) Tampa needs a good secondary to
compete. Barber is getting old.
6.
St. Louis Rams
WR, Justin Blackmon, 6'1'' 205, Okie St.
WR, Michael Floyd, 6'3'' 220
The Rams trade back and still get the best WR in the draft.
Next best WR, I believe if Blackmon is gone
the rams may trade this pick.
7.
Jacksonville Jaguars
DE, Quinton Coples, 6'6'' 272, UNC
OT, Riley Reiff, 6'6'' 280
The jags need everything except a RB, The D-line is not a
bad place to start.
Good OT played in the physical big 10,
Gabbert struggled in his first season this
could definetly help.
8.
Miami Dolphins
QB, Ryan Tannehill, 6'4'' 216, Texas A&M
RB, Trent Richardson,5'11'' 220
They need a QB bad if they don't get Flynn they need to
get a QB of the future.
Best RB in the draft, Bush was amazing at
the end of the season, but with Richardson
Bush can move to 3rd down back and slot.
9.
Carolina Panthers
DT, Dontari Poe, 6'5'' 350, Memphis
OLB, Melvin Ingram, 6'2'' 264
350 pounds ran a 4.86 at the combine, need I say more.
Good pass rusher, the Panthers could
score but had trouble stopping teams from
scoring.
10.
Buffalo Bills
OT, Jonathan Martin, 6'6'' 287, Stanford
OT, Jonathan Martin, 6'6'' 287
Picking a OT will fill a team need.
Bills need a Left Tackle after acquiring
Mario Williams as their needed pass rusher.
Martin is ranked 3rd at his position.
11.
Kansas City Chiefs
OT, Riley Reiff, 6'6'' 280, Iowa
QB, Ryan Tannehill, 6'4'' 216
You can never have enough good O-Linemen.
Chiefs Definetly need a QB, since Manning
turned them down and Flynn looks to be a
Dolphin, it's a must need pick.
12.
Seattle Seahawks
ILB, Luke Kuechly, 6'3'' 225, BC
OG, David Decastro, 6'5'' 310
Many needs, they take the best player available.
The Seahawks need a OG after releasing
Gallery.  I think they need a QB, but no
value QBs left so this is logical.
13.
Arizona Cardinals
OLB, Courtney Upshaw, 6'2'' 262, Bama
CB, Dre Kirkpatrick, 6'3'' 190
They try to help the defense by drafting a Monster who will
provide pressure on QBs.
This is a great pick for the Cardinals you
add him to Patrick Peterson and the
Cardinals have a good secondary,
Kirkpatrick might be a future pro bowler.
14.
Dallas Cowboys
OG, David DeCastro, 6'5'' 310, Stanford
DE, Quinton Coples, 6'6'' 272
Somebody has to protect Tony Romo
A solid player in that troubled UNC program.
Has the size but experts question hi speed.
Cowboys look to add to Demarcus Ware's
presence. If he last this long on the board.
15.
Philadelphia Eagles
OLB, Melvin Ingram, 6'2'' 264, South Car.
DT, Dontari Poe, 6'5'' 350
OLB/DE Hybrid could fit their Defense well.
The Eagles need to stop the run and this
guy would help immediately. 350 pounds
and ran a 4.8 40. A freak at his position this
could be a steal.
16.
New York Jets
WR, Michael Floyd, 6'3'' 220, Notre Dame
ILB, Luke Kuechly, 6'3'' 225
Sanchez gets another WR to argue with.
A LB who can fill Bart Scott's role. 6'3'' 225,
smart and a great tackler. The Jets defense
has become secondary only.
17.
Cincinnati Bengals
CB, Dre' Kirkpatrick, 6'3'' 190, Bama
CB, Janoris Jenkins, 5'11'' 186
Big corner, would be steal at this pick.
A top CB that comes from a small school.
He is very talented and might move up
because of Kirkpatrick's off the field
questions.
18.
San Diego Chargers
DE, Nick Perry, 6'3'' 250, USC
OLB,Courtney Upshaw,6'2'' 262
The Chargers need another Pass Rusher
Another Bama product, a good player
whose potential is good and can rush the
passer, which is a high priority for a team
whose sack leader had 4 total sacks.
19.
Chicago Bears
OG, Cordy Glenn, 6'5'' 330, Georgia
OG, Cordy Glenn, 6'5'' 300
If the Bears don't get better O-Linemen Jay Cutler won't
make it through the season again.
A smart pick for a team that has everything
now, The Bears need to protect Cutler who
sat out alot of last season. Mike Tice likes
these types of lineman.
20.
Tennessee Titans
DE, Whitney Mercilus, 6'4'' 265, Illinois
WR, Stephen Hill, 6'5'' 206
The Titans take the best DE left on the board.
Definetly a good WR, maybe better than
some scouts have graded him. Hes 6'5'' and
ran a 4.3 40 at the combine. If Manning
signs this pick will go with Kenny Britt.
21.
Cincinnati Bengals
RB, Lamar Miller, 5'11'' 210, Miami
RB, Lamar Miller, 5'11'' 210
Strong runner with speed, will take Benson's place as the
top RB if they don't sign a FA.
A dominate RB from the U. Doug Martin may
be a better choice, but the Bengals aren't
going to pass on his pedigree.
22.
Cleveland Browns
WR, Alshon Jeffery, 6'3'' 234, South Car.
DE, Vinny Curry, 6'4'' 252
They need WRs bad, He will help.
Very talented the Browns need a pass
rusher since they take Blackmon early. The
local Marshall product could be a fan
favorite.
23.
Detroit Lions
CB, Stephon Gilmore, 6'1'' 188, South Ca.
CB, Stephon Gilmore, 6'1'' 188
Great athlete will fill a team need.
He is a big DB who can take on physical
receivers, The Lions need DBs to go with
their dominant front line. The Lions will soon
be a top 5 team.
24.
Pittsburgh Steelers
ILB, Dont'a Hightower, 6'4'' 250, Bama
OT, Mike Adams, 6'8'' 300
Their LBs are receiving senior discounts, They need some
new blood at LB.
A big Lineman from OSU. He's strong and can play,
experts say he lacks effort at times.
25.
Denver Broncos
S, Mark Barron, 6'2'' 210, Bama
WR, Kendall Wright, 5'10'' 196
Brian Dawkins can't play forever so the Broncos take the
best Safety in the draft.
The Broncos need receivers after losing Eddie
Royal their only decent WR.
26.
Houston Texans
WR, Stephen Hill, 6'5'' 206, Georgia Tech
DE, Nick Perry, 6'3'' 250
The Texans finally get a weapon opposite Andre Johnson.
A DE makes sense here, He is the best one left.
27.
New England Patriots
DT, Michael Brockers, 6'6'' 300, LSU
DT, Michael Brockers, 6'6'' 300
Their D-Line sucked last year, This big Man can help
change that.
Brockers upside has scouts interested, Belicheck
is a genius, don't worry their pick will work out.
28.
Green Bay Packers
OL, Peter Konz, 6'5'' 315, Wisconsin
DE, Whitney Mercilus, 6'4'' 265
They might lose some O-Linemen to Free Agency so they
will need replacements.
His speed rush is needed in Green Bay.  Can also
play OLB.
29.
Baltimore Ravens
ILB, Vontaze Burfict, 6'3'' 245, ASU
ILB, Dont'a Hightower,6'4'' 250
He could learn from Ray Lewis and then replace him, He
plays Angry.
Does not have great speed but should adjust well
wherever the Ravens put him.
30.
San Francisco 49ers
CB, Janoris Jenkins, 5'11'' 186, North Ala.
TE, Coby Fleener, 6'6'' 250
Could be a risk, But has plenty of talent.
A great TE to pair with Vernon Davis.
31.
New England Patriots
ILB, Lavonte David, 6'1'' 211, Nebraska
S, Mark Barron, 6'2'' 210
They need help everywhere on Defense.
The best S in the draft, Good size and speed no
glaring liabilities.
32.
New York Giants
OT, Mike Adams, 6'8'' 300, The OSU
RB, Doug Martin, 5'9'' 210
You can never have enough good O-Linemen, Plus I had to
get at least one Buckeye on here.
Boise State Product. The Giants need a RB after
losing Jacobs.  They would love Fleener here.
